We searched 10 major job search engines for different job titles and in different cities. The following table represents the number of jobs found:

Jobs were searched with standard search options, considering all open jobs in the respective state posted within a maximum period of 30 days. 

Conclusion:

There are a lot of indicators that can be applied for evaluating the best job search engines available in Canada but the most straight-forward approach is using the number of job vacancies "discovered" by the individual job search engines. We only evaluated qualitatively the quality of the job search results and found for instance in the case of Hotjobs many search results for "Nurse, Vancouver" or "Chemist, Vancourver" with no direct relation to the corresponding job search keyword. For our ranking list we also considered to a smaller degree the different options of the job search engines (for instance resume posting options, e-mail alert lists, salary functions, job trend information, discussion forums, etc.).

Indeed did the best job with our search, followed by the meta-search engines Wowjobs and SimplyHired. Indeed resulted as our favorite under the job bank engines, not only because it gives you the highest number of job fits. Apart from the job title, results show a link to the posting, a description of the position and the search bank where it was originally listed. Navigation is simply and user friendly, results are easy to read and uncluttered with extra information. We've found that Indeed uncovers a lot of jobs that you wouldn't normally find on most job search sites, and they do a good job of making their job search features as easy to use as possible.
